I am on a laptop. It has always found the preferred wireless network, but now it won’t find it when you search for network connections. But, when you go under manage wireless networks it is under there. What can I do to get it to connect again? All of the desktop computers connect to it just fine. My laptop is only a couple of years old, and has windows vista if that matters any. Thanks for all the help!

When Windows XP boots up, even if it is connected to Ethernet it still brings up the wireless network. How can I set it up so it looks for Ethernet first and connects to it if its present, and then looks for wireless if it isn’t plugged into an ethernet connection? Thanks!

Does anyone know the advantages/ benefits of using a Wired network over a Wireless network, please list & explainn if possible.

I already got step-by-step instructions and set up my own wireless network; but it didn’t ask for a password or anything. Instead of a flash drive, I inserted a floppy disk which should work just the same. It said it was finished but i can’t find the network! All the other networks I try connecting to are secured (as expected), and I’ve tried several things. Now im just frustrated and still without wireless internet. What do I do now? Thank you in advance for your help!

I have a secure wireless network that I added shared files to. I feel that my computer is safe on my network. But, if I go to a coffeehouse or the library, with my laptop, and use their network, will I be sharing my folders with everybody on that network?

Five of my neighbors have wireless networks within range of my house. I think the interference is affecting my signal strength on my own wireless network. How can I fix it?
I use WPA and MAC address filtering to keep people off my network. I just wondered if it was possible that interference was weakening my signal strength because there are so many wifi networks in my area.

I just purchased a tv with a ethernet jack enabling it to surf youtube, the weather, etc. However my apartment complex provides free wireless throughout the complex, meaning I need a way to connect the bare jack on the back of the tv to this network, and I have no idea how, any help would be great, especially space saving solutions.

I have a wireless network that uses Dlink router. I have two dekstops one running Vista another XP Home. Also two laptops. When I created the network I guess I made it unsecured by mistake. Now I would like to change it, but not sure exactly how to to do it and what would be the changes I need to be aware off? Does it chnage how I would be accessing the network from diff computers? Also, what type of security should I choose?
