When I try to open it it says not enough memory or disk space but there’s still lot of free memory in my computer! I am using Windows XP and MS Word 2007 thanks to those who can help me.

Windows XP Pro on a Dell D600 with a Pentium M 1.6 processor.

In system properties the computer information shows:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) M
processor 1600MHz
599 MHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

I don’t quite understand the 599 MHz. I’m assuming this is the actual CPU speed of the Pentium M.

The reason for the question is that I am having problems with the software bogging down and running sluggish. I checked another laptop in the department with the same specs and it shows 1.2 GHz. Why is mine showing 599? Could this be the problem? How do I fix it?

The helpdesk told me that I just had a slower CPU. I know this is incorrect, but don’t know what to do.

Any ideas, please.

I wanted to download Windows Movie Maker for my Windows xp, so how much memory will it take up on my computer, if i choose to download it? If it takes up a lot of memory, is there any other things I can download like Windows Movie Maker?
How many GB does it take up on your hard drive space?

A friend of mine who works in the IT dept told me I should do it at least once a year, is that too little?

Also should I run CHKDSK before or after I defragment it? What are some other programs for Windows XP that I should download and run before or after defragmenting the hard drive to keep it in excellent condition? What are some other ways to keep the hard drive in excellent condition besides doing this?

I have two computers, on running windows 7, which has the files that I want to transfer, and one running windows XP which I would like to transfer the files to. I want to create a temporary network to share two large folders (~10 gb) between the computers. I’m not the greatest at networking and need a complete walkthrough. Thanks!

When I click ctrl+alt+del I only see a few programs running however when I run Adaware it tells me there are 20 something running in the background. I don’t have Windows XP..I don’t know how should I expand the virtual memory?

I would like to transfer some photos from my digital camera to my computer. As I have mislaid the USB cable from my camera,I would like to know how to transfer my camera’s photos to my computer using the memory card option. Do I have to take the card out of my camera and put it in my computer to transfer the photos or is there some other way? My camera is a Samsung DigiMax L60 and my computer is a Windows XP.
