Specifically for windows server 2008?
I need a free program that can start a server and put it to sleep mode.
Is there anything like that?

I need to transfer a file from on server to another but ftp is disabled for security. Is there any way I could do that without ftp programs??

The server runs windows server 2008 and we have no access to ftp for security reasons.

I am running Windows Server 2003. I want to write a script which can send mail. I have some text in a file and I want the script to email the content of the file to an email address. The content of the file will change every time I email it, but the email address will stay the same. I have Mercury/32 Mail Server and Microsoft Outlook mail client installed.

After a server has been set up how do you connect clients to that server over a LAN? Do you have to install extra software? Is a LAN the best way to connect the systems or should I use some other method of connecting computers to the server?

I am in charge of finding out what we need to do to get a small network (9 computers) set up at our school here in Ecuador. We need each student to have an individual login, and also a network share on the server. We have all Windows XP machines, and can install windows Server 2000 or 2003.

Could someone please direct me to a guide, or the right direction to get this set up? Thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure if I have worded it correctly but I want a secondary server to issue IP addresses if the main DHCP server on the primary DC fails.

Our company would like to implement a network faxing solution so we could fax from our pcs instead of from the fax machine. We currently have a sharp fo-dc535 fax machine which has networking capability and one server running Windows Server 2003. I am wondering if we are going to need to buy another server to handle the faxing or if we can just use our existing server. We fax about 100 docs a day back and forth so the volume is not that high, I just have never put a network fax solution in place. Also, if anyone knows of other things we will need to put in place to implement this I would appreciate that info. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
