I have a dell 670 pc which was running windows server. I want to install xp on it but when i boot from the xp cd it goes to install it then it cant detect the scsi drives.. what do i need to do?

I need to install windows server 2003 on a computer that currently has windows XP installed on it. When I go to install windows server, an error message comes up saying that I can not upgrade from xp to server 2003. When I try to do a clean install, a blue screen error message comes up saying that a problem has occurced, the computer was shut dow to prevent damage to your computer. Any Ideas?

I have a copy of Windows Server 2008 (not WHS) and I want to know whether I can create user acount(s) that can be accessed over our home network.

How do large companies store people’s emails on servers? Do they have one host machine running Windows Server 2008 OS which routes the information to many, many, other machines that simply store data? If the OS crashes, does this mean I also lose my data?

I have a PS3 and I stream all my content from my laptop to the system through Windows 7 media server. However, when I close my laptop’s lid and put it to sleep, the server logs off. Is there any way for the server to keep running while the computer is "sleeping"?

At work, we use a windows server 2003 environment with our own DHCP and DNS Servers. We have some group policies in place but they hardly place any restrictions on users being able to get around the network.

Now when I first use a Vista computer before it is added to the Active Directory Domain, DHCP works flawlessly. However, after adding it to the domain DHCP stops working completely. A network sniff shows that communication is happening between the DHCP server and the Vista computer, and that the DHCP server is even offering an IP address, yet the Vista computer doesn’t seem to take it. When I give the Vista computer a Static IP address, however, it works just fine. Any ideas would be appreciated.
IPCONFIG doesn’t seem to work. I get a "Access is Denied" message when trying to release or renew.

I currently have a Windows 2003 Server, with IIS 6 and SQL Server 2005. I want to be able to embed videos using a script from a company such as AVS. The prob is that most of them seem to use MySQL and PHP as preference. Is it possible for me to add the php scripts to my windows server. Or should I convert it over to a linux box? Thanks.

When there’s a power failure, my windows server is unable to reboot. It is currently connected to a UPS.
