How do I lock out network connectivity when the user is connecting to an outside unprotected wireless network?
I have the laptop that is being used to connect to an unknown unsecured wireless network in the area, by the user. I want to set up a password so that I can control when the user gets on to the connection. As the user will just re-enable the disabled network.
I do not know where the wireless network/router is located, therefore I have to try and lock down the laptop’s ability to connect to it. Disabling the network connection is no good as the user can just re-enable it later. Looking to make it so the user has to bring the laptop to me to connect.
How do you restrict a computer to just one wireless network?
I have a younger brother who has a tendency to connect to our neighbor’s unsecured wireless network that has faster internet rather than our own. His computer is running Windows Vista Home Premium. Is it possible to restrict his computer to just connect to our network? I’ve removed the other network from his preferred network list, but he still connects manually. Can anything be done?

I have a wireless network that uses Dlink router. I have two dekstops one running Vista another XP Home. Also two laptops. When I created the network I guess I made it unsecured by mistake. Now I would like to change it, but not sure exactly how to to do it and what would be the changes I need to be aware off? Does it chnage how I would be accessing the network from diff computers? Also, what type of security should I choose?
