I want to use the ethernet cable for my ps3 but my router has only one connection and its connected to the computer. What would happen if i disconnect the ethernet cable of my computer. Would the internet cut off of my computer and start all over with the connection or if I put it back would it stay there and nothing would had happen. I need some help please.

I am using a D-Link DGL-4000 gaming router and simply want to add a VPN endpoint appliance to it so I can securely access my home network when I’m away on business. What device would be best for this? I see many VPN routers, but they insist on going just after the cable modem. Can I install a VPN router off of a port on my existing router (connected to the cable modem) to give me VPN endpoint capabilities?

I just replaced a router on our small business network and all communications within the network are ok. Though when we try to access a webpage the speeds are very inconsistent. There are even times when we get error messages and can’t get anything to come up. I’ve checked with our ISP and we aren’t having any issues from their end. So the only other thing I can think of is our switch. Maybe it’s screwing up IPs or something. Have any suggestions?

After re-installing windows xp, when I go to network connections no connections are visible. My router is still connected to my PC via network cable. How do I get this connection back and connect to the internet?

I need to set up a wireless network with my laptop and my computer to printer share. My laptop is upstairs and my computer is downstairs. I already have the laptop connected to the internet using the router. The printer is plugged into my computer using a USB so i need to set up a network so i can print something from laptop through the computer.

Hey! I brought an xbox for xmas and i have an orange livebox. I have connected an ethernet cable into port 2 on the livebox and connected to the back of xbox. Then it says failure to conect can’t obtain an ip address from your router or modem.
If any1 can help it would b gr8 ty

I have four computers+ a 360 that need internet connections. I have a router that has only four Ethernet ports…In short I need five.
I am looking for the name of a cord in which when you plug it into one Ethernet port it allows it to be split into two Ethernet ports. To clarify; I need the name of something that makes two Ethernet ports out of one.

Question Details: I’m trying to connect my xbox to xbox live via xbox 360 wireless adapter. it says that i am connected to my wireless network but it cannot obtain an IP address. It might be because my router is not DHCP enabled.
What does this mean and how do i find out if my router is DHCP enabled?
