What's a good software program that can shutdown a computer pc & monitor when the cpu is idle?
I share 1 home desktop computer with a couple of my roommates. But my roommates tend to leave the computer running all night, and never bother to turn off the pc & monitor. In result, I suffer the consequence of paying a higher electricity bill due to my roommate’s inability to turn off the computer when not been used. What’s a good software program someone can recommend me to that can shutdown the pc & monitor when the cpu is idle?
How do you set up a network for two laptops to share an Internet connection?
Our cable Internet connection was set up on my laptop. I then bought a wireless router. I have an HP running Windows VISTA. My roommate has a Dell laptop about four years old running Windows XP. She wants to connect to the Internet. I have a wireless network set up for the router. What does she need to do? She tried going under "Connect to" and no wireless networks showed up.
What are the risks of having an unsecured network?
My roommate set up the network and for some reason yesterday it was a secured network but today it’s not. Until this problem is fixed, what are the risks of having an unsecured network? Does this just mean my neighbors can use our internet, or worse?
