How do you find a proxy server that actually works?
Any proxy servers that I have found (even the ones which people claim "work good") won’t let me navigate though the functions of websites. For example some links on the page won’t work at all when you click on them. How do you use a proxy server which ACTUALLY works?

How is a VPN different from a proxy?
Let’s say we have servers A, B and C, all connected to the internet. My computer talks to server A.
Scenario 1: I open a VPN with server B and download some porn hosted on server C.
Scenario 2: I visit a proxy hosted on server B and download some porn hosted on server C.
My impression is that in both cases, all data exchanged between me and server C has to go through B. Is this right?
