OK, I just overclocked my CPU from 2.4 to 3.0 and it running on a stock CPU heat sink cooler that it came with in the box. I have a ASUS P5K Premium Motherboard and its in a Mid size tower so I don’t want anything bulky and a good cooler that well keep it cool. My Price Range that I well spend is from 20-35 dollars!

I’ve always referred to it as the computer, system, or system unit. I thought that my college education fiancee was just wrong; she learned to call it that from her college computer course, however I recently heard a couple of coworkers calling it a CPU. In my opinion this is akin to calling a car an engine or calling a human a brain. A system unit isn’t a CPU anymore than it is a motherboard or a video card. So, why are people being trained to call it a CPU?

I have an ASUS A8M2N-LA motherboard. AM2 Socket I think. My AMD Athlon X2 4200+ and the cpu pins broke. I’m looking for a suggestion. What would be the best and cheapest CPU I can get?

To be specific, if you have the dimm memory, is there an easy way to tell the type, size and manufacturer of the memory without putting it on a motherboard and booting the computer up?

I want to build a new computer, but want to recycle some parts (Reuse). Is it possible for me to replace the motherboard without damaging the CPU and I could use the CPU on a new motherboard? Please just say yes and no and how, I don’t want any other suggestions or possiblities.

Basicly I have a good CPU on what turned out to be a bad motherboard and I want to get a new motherboard for that CPU. I know it to be an Intel Pent. 4 speed is 3.7 ghtz with hyper threading. However what socket is it so when i look at new motherboards I know which to buy?
