I want to be able to sure my wireless network. Right now, Its unprotected and i have a feeling my neighbors are using it. Its kind of slow sometimes when it should be fast. I have a Linksys router and i dont know the username or password for my network. How do i find my username and password and what do i need to do to protect my wireless network? Help please.

I have a desktop computer a laptop and an xbox. MY desktop and laptop work fine when used together, but when i use my xbox i have an IP ADDRESS CONFLICT with my desktop. I am using a Wireless G Router WRT54G

Can you explain it step by step in a beginners vocabulary?

I would like to hook my external hard drive to my network so my wife and I can save to that drive rather than our laptops. We don’t have a computer hooked to the router. We have the modem, a linksys wireless router and that’s it. What do you suggest I do?

I have 2 computers, one wireless other wired, both connected via a Linksys WRT54G router. I want to transfer files between the 2. Both are running windows xp. When I try to create home network between the 2 computer, I am only seeing "Setup a wireless network for home or office". How do I create a connection between these 2 computers when one is wireless other is not. Which setup should i run and on what computer, please be detailed.

I connected one end of an Ethernet cable to my laptop and the other end to a Linksys router/switch. Then I connected another Ethernet cable between the router and a desktop computer. Now when I go to control panel >> Network and Sharing Center, I see the new connection under "unidentified network".

But now what? How can I set up a peer to peer network between the two computers so that they can share files. I don’t care about sharing an internet connection, just about sharing files.

I am trying to get my work laptop hooked up to my wireless connection at home. It wouldn’t connect because I suspect the network key might be wrong when it’s attempting to authenticate. Is there an easy to figure out what the network key is if you’ve forgotten? Btw – I use a Linksys router

I am having problems with my Linksys wireless router. I have 2 PCs, a laptop, and 2 XBoxes. Everything is fine when it’s all wireless. But I just got one of the Xboxes, and I didn’t want to buy the wireless adapter for it, so I just used an ethernet cable. But now I’m getting disconnections from the wireless and the wired devices. any suggestions?
