I am buying a Sony Vaio CS series laptop and the only thing I haven’t upgraded is the graphics card, because there is no option to do so on the website. I was just wondering how much memory the standard graphics card that comes with Vaio laptops have. I assume it’s 512MB but I just want to make sure before I purchase the laptop.

I have sims 3 and sims 2. I also have many sims 2 expansions. I’m planning on getting a new desktop computer and I’m curious how much memory/ hard drive I should look for? would something like 4GB be enough? I’ve went throught two laptops and I think its because I didn’t have enough memeroy and they burned up.

I’m looking to buy a Dell Inspiron 13. Everything I am reading about laptops is more confusing than helpful. The price seems to enlarge with the amount of memory. Is there a minimum amount you need? I am purchasing one mostly to do a lot of writing. Thank you for any help.

If I had lots of computers and laptops laying around in my house and they’re all on the internet, how can I start a private network with each? I don’t have any extra ethernet cables either. I have the new AT&T internet and a couple spare old modems. Can I use those to start a private network just by switching the ethernet cables?

Our cable Internet connection was set up on my laptop. I then bought a wireless router. I have an HP running Windows VISTA. My roommate has a Dell laptop about four years old running Windows XP. She wants to connect to the Internet. I have a wireless network set up for the router. What does she need to do? She tried going under "Connect to" and no wireless networks showed up.

I would like to hook my external hard drive to my network so my wife and I can save to that drive rather than our laptops. We don’t have a computer hooked to the router. We have the modem, a linksys wireless router and that’s it. What do you suggest I do?

I am deciding between two laptops. I like them both very much but the graphics card vary on both.

1. Dell XPS M1710 with a Nvidia Geforce 7950 GTX
2. Hewlett Packard Pavilion Dv9590 with a Nvidia GeForce 8600M

I know that the 7950 is a much much better card but i am a very keen gamer and i want a card that will please me in the future too. The 8600 has DirectX10 but the 7950 doesn’t.

I really dont know what to go for, on one hand i dont want to be stuck with the 7950 that will play amazing now but nothing in the future due to no DX10 support. I know the 8600 is a good card now, but what will it be like in terms of DX10. If its only ‘good’ (rather than great) for DX9 will it be an average card supporting DX10?

I don’t understand how it works!
Im really stuck! Please help!
