How do I completely defrag my computer?
Ok, I’m using Auslogics DiskDefrag on a hard drive 76% full. When the defrag finishes it reports Fragmentation Before: 27.60%, Fragmentation After: 24.02%.
This seems to me pretty insufficient defragging. Is there another freeware program that can do a better, should I accept that percantage of defragmention on a 2/3 full harddrive? what do you think?
How do i get my hard drive memory back after uninstalling a program?
I just got a laptop and ima get hard drive memory for it at a store but not until september so i got to stick wit wut i got for now. i installed yahoo mesenger but deleted it later on. How do i get the memory i used by dowloading messenger back?
is it true that every time you defrag your system or a system restore that the laser burns tracks into the hd?
When you scan your system deeply the laser goes back and forth and supposingly "as i hear" burns tracks that can only be seen with a microscope across your hard drive. This also supposingly can make your pc perform slower.
I updated MySQL to the latest version and lost the databases. How did that happen?
I’m using OSX 10.6.2, a couple days ago I updated MySQL from v5.1.39 to the latest version (5.1.41) by installing the pkg file from the official website. After that the databases were missing, as if I never used MySQL. Even the users were reset.
I have a backup of the whole hard drive, how can I restore the databases?

How to know if my cpu or my motherboard is broken?
When I turn it on, all the system and CPU fans start spinning, and the power / hard drive lights come on, but the screen is blank. I did not hear *beeps* from the motherboard, my video card still working fine and the monitor is still okay.
What is the amount of memory, hard drive and other specifications would a university student need?
I will go to university for longer than 7 years, so I will need a laptop but the problem s that Im unsure of the amount of memory, hard drive and other specifications does my laptop need. I think that 4GB memory and 320 GB would be good for me.
By the way, which laptop do you think is good for a university student?
