I have two computers, on running windows 7, which has the files that I want to transfer, and one running windows XP which I would like to transfer the files to. I want to create a temporary network to share two large folders (~10 gb) between the computers. I’m not the greatest at networking and need a complete walkthrough. Thanks!

I’m about to get a new laptop this coming august and my current one, i’ll be passing it on to my cousin. My question is, how do i take out what i have put into it and remove any other items, ex: pictures, folders,documents, etc., from the memory. I want to give it to her just as it was giving to me when i first purchase it. Is there a formatted file or program that i can get into and erase everything from the hardrive? P.S. im going to transfer everything i have now into my external hardrive memory data base.

I’ve uncommented everything that needs to be uncommented and moved the files to root folders but mySQL still isn’t showing up on my phpinfo page :/

Can I setup my desktop PC as a VPN server to access my shared folders from a remote location using my laptop PC? Both PCs are running Windows XP Pro. Is there any other free and secure alternative to this?

I have all the parts, now i just need the software. Linux or Windows. User accounts and shared folders should be on the server, and i don’t know what a web server is or if i should use it, i don’t have webspace!
