I accidently downloaded a Trojan and I was wondering if I could reformat my computer. I’m not even entirely sure that my laptop would read the CDs, and I would have to wait for an external hard drive. My friend said he could get some programs to get it off, but im too paranoid that my computer will screw up before the weekend comes.
I have Virus protection called Kaspersky. I don’t know if its a good virus protection or not. Its something my parents got.

I want to reformat my external hard drive but have no idea how to. Its a western digital mybook world edition, 1 tb. Im having a hard time transferring my movies to it because after a certain amount it tells me that its either protected or in use, but if I turn the drive off than back on it lets me start up where I left off, only problem is this takes forever, and I heard that if I reformat it it might solve the problem.

I just reinstalled windows and now my external hard drive icon is showing but it says it needs to reformat but then I will lose everything. Lol so much for back up.

I would like to hook my external hard drive to my network so my wife and I can save to that drive rather than our laptops. We don’t have a computer hooked to the router. We have the modem, a linksys wireless router and that’s it. What do you suggest I do?

I need to reformat as windows does can not read the disk and it will now be used with a pc and not a mac.

I do a lot of uploading photos and family videos, burning them, then deleting them. Do I need to defrag my external hard drive just as I would my regular computer hard drive?
