I need it to try and set up an internet connection using my cabel modem’s ethernet cable.
Oh sorry I have Windows XP. I thought they were the same.

My tv and ps3 are connected just fine, but my ethernet cable isn’t long enough, don’t tell me to buy a new one, I just want to know how to connect them if they are a few meters apart.

I want to hack my xbox original but I dont want to keep it in my den right next to my wireless gateway. Is there something I could use that would allow me to plug in my wired xbox Ethernet to some cable so I could connect to my gateway?

Is there any benefit for me to have the computer to automatically disable the wireless connection when i plug in my hardwired ethernet cable?

I want to string an ethernet cable from the the internet cafe on the first floor to the 4th floor condo I am renting. Will the connection be affected by the lenght? I cant use wireless, it needs to connect my Vonage phone and 1 or 2 computers. The internet cafe has a 256K connection.

This is probably an absurd question, but if you were to stand on or squeeze a water hose, that would affect the water pressure. So could doing the same to an ethernet cable slow down or cause errors in your computer’s internet connection?
