Also, I will probably run a disk cleanup along with the Defrag.

Ok, I’m using Auslogics DiskDefrag on a hard drive 76% full. When the defrag finishes it reports Fragmentation Before: 27.60%, Fragmentation After: 24.02%.

This seems to me pretty insufficient defragging. Is there another freeware program that can do a better, should I accept that percantage of defragmention on a 2/3 full harddrive? what do you think?

ive had my laptop for about 2 years or so and it runs slower than crap so i learned about the defraging process and its been runing for about an hour and a half now. its the first time defraging. also will it take untill the defrag is over before i can see it run faster or would it start running beter half way through or anything like that? i have windows vista if that matters for anything.

I keep getting this message. I "clean" up with defrag, and a program I bought "Reg Cure" but before long I get the message again. Do I need to buy more memory or what?

I was wondering window xp defrag is good one to use. if there is better one. I would like to know.

So I recently did a defrag with O&O Defragger. I have noticed that when I finished I had lost 30gb. Why is that? and is there a way to retrieve the lost space back?
